The Kinship Story

Where Engineering Mentorship
Meets Entrepreneurship.

I’m an engineer by trade, but coaching Science Olympiad events for my 3rd year has been one of the most rewarding mentorship experiences of my career. Working with students on events like Boomilever, Ping Pong Parachute, and Egg-o-naut showed me how much learning accelerates when testing fixtures are dependable, calibrated, and consistent.

Kinship3D started as a way to share the fixtures we engineered for our own team with other coaches, parents, and makers. It’s also a hands-on vehicle for entrepreneurship with my kids: teaching them how real products go from CAD sketches to slicers, physical test plates, and customer packaging.

My sons and daughter help brainstorm, assemble, and—most importantly—test! each fixture and workshop tool until we know it will survive real-world stresses. When you use a Kinship3D rig or drill accessory, you’re using equipment built with care right here in North Carolina.
